Chaired by Lord Mayor William Russell, the City of London Corporation — in partnership with its creative district, Culture Mile — formed the Culture and Commerce Taskforce in October last year. It is working to secure the capital’s creative future by providing a blueprint for stronger collaboration between the culture and business sectors and boosting London’s economic growth as the UK recovers from the pandemic.

Following their new report, The Trampery, on behalf of the Culture and Commerce Taskforce, is now looking for city businesses, which are keen to explore repurposing available space (from offices and foyers to retail and hospitality units) for a pilot project to support creative entrepreneurs and activate the city with two key strands; Create in the City and Enhancing the City.

CREATE IN THE CITY

We’re exploring a new brokerage model that would support owners, occupiers and employers to make unused office and retail space available for creative businesses.

Physical hubs are a hotbed for innovation which can open up creative collaborations and provide isolated workers with human connections and inspiration.

Would you be interested in looking at different ways to optimise the current space your company owns or leases by facilitating creative enterprise hubs?

ENHANCING THE CITY

We want to see the streets, shop windows, and lobbies around the capital filled with creative activity to attract workers, visitors and residents when COVID restrictions allow.

Do you have access to public or commercial space that could be used to host art installations, projections or other creative activations?

Work with leading figures from across the capital’s commercial, civic, tech, and creative organisations to maintain the city’s competitive advantage as a global creative and commercial hub.
